At first, we just sat in silence for the first bit of the drive, and I was hoping he just wouldn't mention it. Which is why I was so surprised about what happened when he took me to practice this morning. He doesn't really talk about emotion, which is something my mom hates. He's not distant, just a 'traditional dad' kind of thing.
We go running and practice baseball sometimes, but that's about it in terms of quality time. Regardless, he's not the caring, sensitive father archetype. He loves hunting and guns, we live in Montana, and he works for a construction company (as a regional safety manager, but still). He's a conservative republican, raised in a Christian family, though my mom is an atheist so we don't go to church or anything. An update to the original post found here.įirst, I'd like to tell you a bit about my dad.
